I have this theory. This theory that you can never really love someone until you know their face. Now, I just don't mean you can look at them and know who it is, come on. I mean when you've been so close to this person so many times you know every minute detail. Every last expression. You've paid close attention to how they laugh, eyes shut, the corners crinkling, a wide smile spread across their face. That slightly raised eyebrow right before they're about to say something they know will make you laugh. Sometimes you even see that face when its cried. When someone's eyes are huge, the little red retinas bulging out as if giving warning to the words that are soon to come. I've only really loved someone after I've known their face. I mean sure, it's good to know the way their hands feel when they hold you, how their voice sounds when they know that you're upset, but none of that really matters. If you don't want to be hurt, just tilt your head away... Just don't pay so much attention, before that face is forever etched upon your memory. |
